Every session — Cameo, Spotlight, and Marquee — includes unlimited looks; a complimentary Zoom meeting to talk about your goals and plan out your wardrobe; warm, relaxed direction from me every step of the way through your shoot; and all images from your shoot afterward delivered in high resolution format. The tiers mostly differ in length of time, which, in part, means how many looks we can comfortably get through together: about four in a Cameo, six in a Spotlight, and eight in a Marquee. There's no hard cap, though — we'll fit in as many as the time allows! I find that changing tops helps you to relax and brings out different shades of your personality, so it's a very key part of our process. Wondering how I compare? Sessions run one to two hours depending on your package: Cameo is one hour, Spotlight is 90 minutes, and Marquee is a full two hours. The longer sessions give us more room to breathe — more wardrobe changes, more setups, and a slower, easier pace.

Solid colors in tones that flatter you are your best friends — and steer clear of loud patterns, logos, and anything that'll look dated in a year. For actors, the real goal is clothing that reads clearly for the types you submit for: a clean commercial look, a grounded dramatic one, and so on. Yes — a professional makeup artist is available as an add-on for any session, and they stay through the whole shoot for touch-ups so you're camera-ready from start to finish. Pricing for makeup begins at $200 for women and $150 for men for a Cameo session and scales with the longer packages. We aim for a natural look in most cases, but with studio lighting a professional application can make that "makeup-free" look really sing. If you have a signature look, we're here to recreate it — it's all about looking and feeling like yourself, so we're very collaborative and flexible.

The best prep is our pre-shoot Zoom meeting, where we plan your wardrobe, looks, and the types you want to capture — so you walk in knowing exactly what's going to happen. Beyond that: get a good night's sleep, stay hydrated, bring plenty of wardrobe options, and leave the rest to me on the day. That said, if you have an agent or manager, make sure to get their input on looks and backgrounds ahead of time so we can deliver what they think will best represent you.

Hancock Headshots is located in a light-filled studio overlooking Prospect Park in Flatbush, Brooklyn, serving actors all over NYC and the surrounding area. I’m at 125 Parkside Avenue — an easy ride on the Q (Parkside Avenue stop) or the B (Church Avenue stop). If you're driving, there's usually plenty of free street parking and, if you prefer valet, there’s a reasonably priced Icon Garage attached to the building.

Honestly? For actors, AI headshots are the kiss of death. They stifle the nuanced expressions that make you you, and they create a jarring mismatch between the photo and the person who actually walks into the audition room. Casting directors can spot an artificial AI headshot a mile away. Your headshot's job is to show your ability to be authentic and connected. A real session gives you a photographer's eye, sensitive direction, and images that actually look and feel like you.

You'll usually have your full gallery within 48 hours after your session, and it stays live for 30 days so you can share it with agents, friends, and anyone whose eye you trust. Every image is color-corrected, exposure-adjusted, enhanced, and delivered as a high-resolution JPEG you can download right from the gallery. Each session also includes a set of fully retouched images, which I finish within about three business days of getting your selections.

Absolutely — I photograph child and teen actors all the time, with a patient, easygoing approach that helps young performers relax and look like themselves. Parents are of course welcome to stay throughout, and we plan the whole session together on the pre-session Zoom.

Yes — just give me a heads-up in advance so I can deliver your images in the right crops. One session can hand you both an actor headshot for submissions and a polished version for LinkedIn, a company page, or a personal site. Plenty of clients use a single shoot to cover their performing and professional profiles at once.
